The Most Beautiful Candles – Brinley Williams

If you have read any of my other posts, you will know that I love personalised gifts! So when this collaboration was arranged with Brinley Williams to review one of their candles, I was over the moon!

Brinley Williams have a wide range of personalised items; including aprons, candles, hoodies, mugs, posters and t-shirts. There are so many different designs to choose from, and all of the above have the option to be personalised, but today I will be reviewing their personalised candles.

There was a lot of deliberation involved when it came to choosing a candle – their range is so extensive that it took me so long to just choose one! Many of the personalised candles would make a beautiful gift, their categories include anniversary, baptism, birthday, Christmas, engagement, wedding… the list goes on! (click here to see them all) They also do mini candles for wedding favours which I think is such a lovely idea! You can even add a photograph on to them.

My mum’s wedding anniversary was imminent when I was making my decision about which design to choose, and I was considering giving her the candle as a gift but they were so beautiful that I had to personalise it to me and keep it myself (sorry mum, next time x)

The candle I chose after a long, long time was the Scripted Name Engagement Candle which I personalised with mine and my boyfriend’s initials. And no, before any one thinks I’m trying to tell you something, we are not engaged.

The reason why I chose this one was because we have no event coming up in our own relationship and I felt it was minimalist enough with just our names so it didn’t look too wedding-like (I really wanted this design!) I ended up put the date of when we starting out at the bottom. There was an option to put three lines of text but I did not need this amount.

Packaging

The thought of getting a candle sent by post gives me so much anxiety. Knowing that so much effort has gone in to the production of it and how fragile they are, I worry so much that they will arrive smashed to pieces. Luckily this did not happen because it was packaged so well!

Whenever I use bubble wrap it always looks a mess so I admire that they have used this and still made it look so pretty! It’s then finished off with a brand sticker which I think finishes it off in a really elegant way, especially if you were receiving this as a gift from somebody.

First Impressions

When I first opened up the candle I couldn’t stop smiling! I honestly would love it if I was to receive this on my wedding day or something similar. It is neatly wrapped in plastic and finished with a bow at the top with I thought was a lovely addition.

Although the dimensions were stated, the candle was actually bigger than I thought it would be. I received the Ivory Classic Pillar (21x8cm) which is an optional extra, I don’t think I actually realised how wide 8cm was for a candle – it looks really grand and expensive on our fireplace, so much so that I don’t want to burn it!

There are so many different design colours to choose from, I opted with the rose gold foil (this was an extra too) and I am really pleased with the result.

Price

This particular candle that I received starts at £21. There are optional added extras which I had, for example upgrading to ivory from white and to a slightly bigger candle (extra £2.50) and upgrading the standard colours to fancy foil ones (extra £3) so including courier delivery in the UK (£3.10) it would’ve come to £29.60 but Brinley Williams very kindly gifted this candle to me in return for an honest review.

Despite this probably not being the cheapest option you can find for a candle on the market, I believe that less than £25/£30 for a beautiful wedding/anniversary/birthday gift is not too steep and fairly reasonable for what you receive – the recipient is sure to love it so it would be money well spent.

Delivery & Customer Service

Brinley Williams state that their candles will be dispatched within 3 working days and my order was sent within this time frame. I was kept fully updated throughout the transaction and all questions I had were responded to in a timely and friendly manner so I was fully satisfied.

In summary, I would definitely recommend Brinley Williams personalised candles to anybody, whether it be for a gift or to treat yourself to something nice as they really would be a beautiful addition to your home!
