• The Best Bath Salts For Relaxation

Not only is a warm, beautifully scented bath a great way to unwind after a long day, it is a popular method to ease muscles and deeply cleanse the skin. Bath salts are one of the best ways to add a little luxury to your bathing session and leave you smelling great, so today I’m going to be telling you all about the best bath salts for relaxing in a little more detail (and give you a discount!)

Disclaimer: Estia Soaps very kindly provided me with some of their products in exchange for an honest review. I will only post items on my blog that I truly love and have used myself as it’s really important that the lovely people who read my blog trust what I have to say.

The Health Benefits Of Bath Salts

Taking a bath with added salt is a popular method for easing muscle pain after exercise by reducing the inflammation and releasing tension in your body. Baths salts are also a great way to get rid of impurities in the skin and get back that vital hydration that many of us lack, resulting in a more youthful and glowing complexion.

    Mental Health

As well as having great physical benefit, baths can prove great advantage to your mental health too. A study conducted by Peter Bongiorno, PsychologyToday.com, explains that taking a bath can aid chemical changes in the brain and “decrease stress hormones (like cortisol) and help the balance of serotonin” which can help conditions like insomnia and depression.

The Best Bath Salts For Relaxation

So now we’ve talked about all the reasons to have a lovely relaxing bath, let’s talk about the best bath salts for relaxation – Eros’ calming luxury bath salts from Estia Soaps.

Handmade in small batches and 100% natural, these luxury bath salts are scented with Ylang Ylang and Geranium oils with olive oil and shea butter for that extra moisturising effect. I suffer with eczema and dry skin so I do have to be careful with the products I use but these were such a treat to use – they added a taste of luxury to my bath without drying out my skin.

The packaging states “naturally soothes headaches & anxiety” and, as a sufferer myself, I can confirm it definitely does what it says on the tin! I love a warm bath after a long day and these salts gave the bath that extra oomph it was missing to really enhance that relaxation I so desperately needed.

I have also tried out their Ekati’s relaxing bath salts which are incredible! They are similar in the sense that they have all the benefits I have mentioned above to release tension, but they have a more lavender scent to them so they’re a great choice if you’re having a nice relaxing bath before bed.

These bath salts are currently selling for £7.50 for 100g or £13.50 for 200g, but you can get 10% off by clicking here or by using the discount code DIAGONALSTRIPES. They really give that “spa at home” feel but they’re a fraction of the cost of visiting a spa! Whilst Covid is preventing us visiting spa facilities, these are for sure the closest I have got to that kind of relaxation.

How To Use These Luxury Bath Salts

You can actually smell these bath salts before you open the product, so you really don’t need to use a huge amount. The suggested amount is 30g, which is about a tablespoon, and the pack has 200g in so you’ll get a fair few bathing sessions from just one packet! It made the whole bathroom smell amazing and I could smell the scent even after I had drained the bath water away.

Estia Soaps also provided some great ideas if you don’t have a bathtub, or if you don’t fancy having a bath but still want to feel pampered. They suggested…

In a shower: Place 30g (1 tablespoon) on the floor of the shower away from the direct spray of the water so you can keep it longer. Steam up your shower with warm running water.

In a foot spa: Add warm water  in your basin or foot spa and dissolve 1 teaspoon  of Estia soaps bath salts. Soak your feet for 15-20 mins.

Use a small amount of salts to scrub and massage your feet, helping with better blood circulation before using them in the foot spa, for extra relaxation and relief from tiredness.

Soak your hair in the tub and feel them silky soft.

    About Estia Soaps

I love to support smaller businesses wherever possible – when I’m using handmade products it’s always nice to have a little background information on them as you know they’ll be made with that little extra love.

Estia Soaps was created by a Greek family who are now located in Scotland, UK. Their goal was to create products that reduce plastic waste, don’t test on animals, and have environmentally friendly packaging – so that’s exactly what they’ve done!

Another quirky fact about Estia Soaps is that all of their products are named after a Greek God, due to them being inspired by Greek Mythology. I love that they’re keeping to their Greek routes – if you’d like to read more about their lovely business you can check their story out here.
