• MooGoo MSM moisturiser REVIEW

Hello again! Today I will be sharing my whole experience of this MooGoo MSM moisturiser in this review, including my thoughts on the ingredients, packaging and price. As some of you may know, I have had very dry, irritated skin pretty much all of my life. Eczema creams and moisturisers have become something I need to factor into my routine on a regular basis because my skin cannot seem to retain much moisture.

As we know the English weather can be a bit questionable but we have been lucky enough to have lots of sunshine recently and it’s been lovely and warm. Despite topping up my tan, my skin has struggled as it does not like any extremity of weather, hot or cold, so it has flared a little more than usual. This MooGoo cream has come at the right time for me so here is my full review.

Disclaimer: MooGoo very kindly gifted me this item for review. I have not been compensated in any other way – all of my opinions, as always, are 100% honest and entirely my own! You can see my privacy policy here.

    Price

As this was sent to me, I didn’t know the original price until I looked it up. As I mentioned, it retails for £12 so it’s not a super cheap option but not really expensive either. I think it will last me a while as I found that a little bit goes quite far, and if your skin looks and feels better for it then £12 is definitely worth the purchase.

    Packaging

My first look at the packaging I thought this looked quite expensive. The name “MooGoo” with this cow on the front of the packaging did make me question whether it had milk in it, as someone who’s dairy allergic I did have to check all the ingredients but was pleased to see there were no milk proteins included.

I had a look on their website and turns out “MooGoo” was a little pet name that stuck in the owner’s family, and not actually related to them growing up on a farm or anything like that! They have a pretty funky back story with you can read more about here.

The packaging is also 100% recyclable – they have a whole page on their website where you can read all about how environmentally friendly there are. I think this is a real breath of fresh air for a company to be so honest and transparent on how they minimise their impact on the environment.

    Ingredients

I mentioned the ingredients above already but I felt I should also comment on these. As I said I cannot use products with milk proteins in due to my allergy, but this moisturiser is safe for me.

On their website, they do have some items that contain milk proteins and honey (this one just has honey) so if you’re vegan or dairy-free it’s always advised to double-check first. This moisturiser says it contains natural edible oils which I think is really unique. Often you see products with SO many ingredients you’ve never heard of which can be unnerving when your skin is so sensitive, so it’s great that there are so many natural ingredients that make up this product.

One of the ingredients that are advertised right on the front of the packaging is MSM – I didn’t know what this was, but after a quick Google search I found out that it is organic sulphur, which is good at calming irritated skin and making it soft.

I really like how relaxed this brand come across. For example, on their ingredients, they’ve had to use the scientific / Latin names but in brackets they’ve but the name that we will understand. Eg “prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil” and “aqua (waters fancy name)”.

On their website, they also have a really chilled out vibe where they seem very open and honest about their products. I cannot fault their customer service through our this collaboration, they have been totally lovely so I have no doubt that they’d be the same for their customers.

    The Product

Now, getting into how I actually found their product…
When I opened it I found that it was sealed which is such a bonus for me!! When these products are sat on a shelf and not sealed, you have no idea if they have been used or tested so I love the extra hygiene of them being sealed.

The moisturiser has a very slight smell to it from the essential oils – you can tell it’s not perfumed. It’s a very pleasant smell, it reminds me of doughnuts from the fayre! Probably the almond oil, but my boyfriend looked at me as if I was crazy.

After I shaved my legs and they were all red and bleh, I applied a big 5 pence worth of cream to my lower legs and it went really far! It rubs in very quickly with no visible residue and left them feeling super soft. It was not heavy and greasy, but light and soothing – you know this stuff is great for sensitive skin if it is suitable for babies as well as adults, you can even use it on your face.

As I said, I have eczema-y, sensitive skin and this moisturiser felt wonderful on them and didn’t upset them at all. Of course, we all have different skin though so they do advise to do a little patch test first.

    My rating…

    Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

This is a high score for me. It takes me a while to warm to new products because my skin doesn’t like change too much. If you are struggling with sensitive or dry skin I would definitely recommend giving this a go. It feels wonderful and I love the smell!

You can purchase this from the MooGoo website, or alternatively Holland & Barrett, Amazon or some pharmacies such as Lloyds.

Thank you for reading this MooGoo MSM moisturiser review. I hope you enjoyed finding out a little more about MooGoo products and feel inspired to try something a bit different! Let me know in the comments below if you have tried any of The MooGoo range.
