Product: Lily Flame Reed Diffuser
Price: RRP £20
Scents: There are a huge variety of scents available in the diffuser range from Lily Flame, but today I’ll be reviewing the two I have purchased – Winter’s Chorus & Fairy Dust.
About Lily Flame
The brand ‘Lily-Flame’ was created by a lady called Jo Nicholls, who started making candles from her own home in Somerset back in 1994. After travelling all over the country and attending markets galore, Jo, a former model, found herself a mentor to help out making the candles. As the business grew, she found a sponsor in the Prince’s Trust – the rest is history!
Lily Flame Packaging
The packaging of these gorgeous Lily Flame diffusers were what first drew me to them. You seldom see a diffuser in a tall tin so the minute I laid my eyes on them I was curious to see what they smelt like!
Upon opening the package, you can see that the bottle is packaged in some lovely tissue paper to keep it safe and the reeds are packaged up separately. The colour of the paper even matches the colour scheme of the scent you have chosen – you can see how meticulous Lily Flame have been when designing and putting together these products.
I took my diffuser out of its tin weeks ago, yet I can still smell the fragrance inside of the packaging! I have recycled it by putting in some bits and bobs that I frequently use – it’s a lovely addition to my shelf.
Lily Flame Scents
Winter’s Chorus – Lily Flame describes this scent as “This is our cosiest scent yet! A scrummy, Home-made Lemon Pie. The perfect scent to come home to.”
My first impressions of this were that it smelt like freshly made chocolate! You know when you’re baking with chocolate and you get that lovely waft when it’s waiting there to be used? It reminded me of that – it’s a gentle but sweet smell.
Fairy Dust – If you’ve ever been to Lush at Christmas and smelt the gorgeous fairy dust scent from there, this reminds me a lot of that. Lily Flame describes the scent as..
Base Notes: Vanilla, Musk, Amber, Patchouli
Middle Notes: Lily, Orchid, Rose, Iris
Top Notes: Green notes, Geranium, Freesia, Bergamot
I did smell a lot of the scents before I opted to buy these ones. Some of my other favourites were Parma Violets, Fresh Linen & Christmas Spice.
Price
The RRP for the Lily Flame reed diffusers is £20. For me personally it is on the more expensive end on what I would usually spend on this kind of product but it’s lovely to have as a treat or to buy as a gift for a loved one. Also, if you want to repurchase the same scent again then you can buy a reed diffuser refill for £12 which is a little more affordable.
You can purchase both the diffusers and refills on the Lily Flame website. I have also seen the diffusers in John Lewis or online from Candles Direct or Amazon.
I think it’s really important to mention that ALL of Lily Flame’s products are vegan and cruelty free, so you can enjoy all of the products guilt-free. This would undoubtedly add extra cost to the ingredients and manufacturing process so I think it’s worth it to spend a little bit more than you may normally.
The Verdict
The final verdict for me is a big YES! I absolutely adore the scents that I’ve tried so far and I’d love to purchase more. I opened mine over a month ago and the scent is still going strong.
One thing I do want to mention is the difference you can see between these two diffuser bottles. “Fairy Dust” arrived exactly how it looked online with a wider bottle and the Fairy Dust stamp on the front. The “Winter’s Chorus” one I received is a smaller bottle that doesn’t mention the scent on the front of the bottle like Fairy Dust does. I know this is fairly trivial, but considering you are paying the same price for both of them, you would expect them to be a little more consistent and receive the same volume of liquid as what they are advertising on the website.
My rating…
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5.
I adore these diffusers and I would love to buy more. The only reason I didn’t give them 5/5 was due to the smaller, un-marked bottle I got in the ‘Winter’s Chorus’ diffuser – other than that everything is perfect!
If you’d like to try out some of the Lily Flame scents then why not check out their website? Not only do they sell the diffusers, but also candles, wax melts, room sprays and more.
Thank you for reading this Lily Flame diffuser review. I hope you enjoyed finding out a little more about lily Flame products and feel inspired to add a new scent in to your home! Let me know in the comments below if you have tried any of the Lily-Flame scents.
